Abu Dhabi City Tour with Free Time for Shopping
The adventure begins when you are met in the morning at your Dubai hotel by our air-conditioned coach.
Departing from your hotel in the morning, you will drive approximately 2 hours to reach Abu Dhabi. The first stop is an inside visit of the fascinating Sheikh Zayed Mosque. This mosque is the largest mosque in the UAE and the eighth largest in the world. It is named after Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan, the founder and the first President of the UAE, who is also buried at this location. The mosque is large enough for 40,000 worshippers and the main prayer hall can accommodate up to 9,000 people. Two rooms next to the main prayer hall, with a 1,500-capacity each, are for the exclusive use of women.
After your mosque visit, you will drive to the Heritage Village, where the culture and traditions of the emirate are reflected in a reconstruction of a traditional oasis village. These recreated village scenes give you a glimpse of the simple life and times before the discovery of oil. You can see mud-brick houses, a traditional mosque and a market. Other traditional aspects of desert life attractively displayed in the open museum include a campfire with coffee pots, a goat’s hair tent and a falaj irrigation system. There are workshops where craftsmen demonstrate traditional skills, such as metal work and pottery, while women sit weaving and spinning.
Upon leaving the Heritage Village, you will have the chance to see more highlights of the city and stop at a shopping mall before driving back to Dubai.
Abu Dhabi City Tour with Lunch at Emirates Palace Hotel
This option is the same as the one described above except that instead of going shopping at a mall you will be taken to the seven star Emirates Palace hotel. It is located on the lobby level (4th floor) of the Palace with an extensive terrace overlooking the beach and marina and provides elegant indoor seating as well as an outdoor terrace.
